Gerard Smith

President and Chief Executive Officer, MRI

As Chairman and CEO of MRI, Gerry directs the management team for the parent company of ShockWatch. He also serves as chief executive officer. Prior to joining MRI, he served as Managing Director of Ogilvy & Mather/Los Angeles; Publisher of Newsweek; Managing Director of the WTA Tour – the women’s worldwide professional tennis tour and, most recently, CEO of Saxon Publishers.

Smith received a B.A. in psychology from Seton Hall University and attended Suffolk Law in Boston, MA, while serving on active duty in the United States Air Force.  A Vietnam veteran, Captain Smith was awarded a Bronze Star, USAF Commendation Medal for Valor and the Republic of Vietnam Medal of Honor, First Class.

Jim Edwards

Vice President, Operations
Jim joined the ShockWatch team in June 2012 as Vice President of Operations. He is responsible for manufacturing, production, warehouse management, shipping, receiving, quality assurance, and procurement. His specialties include: risk management, lean manufacturing, quality management, cost management and negotiation, cross functional team leadership, people management, team building and continuous improvement. Before joining ShockWatch, Jim spent four years at South Carolina Yutaka Technologies as Assistant Vice President of Operations. Prior to that, he held various manufacturing positions with leadership responsibility in the automotive industry. Jim received bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and supervision with a minor in computer technology from Purdue University.

Angela Kerr

Vice President, Marketing and Product Management
Before being named Vice President of Marketing and Product Management in October 2012, Angela was the director of product management, responsible for developing roadmap strategies and coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams to launch new products. Prior to that, Angela spent three years as our product manager and one year as our marketing manager. In her new role, she  is responsible for the ShockWatch brand, and continues to be the driving force behind product management, developing go-to-market strategies that deliver unique benefits and superior value to customers. Angela holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University. She has completed numerous professional development courses, including Next Generation Leadership, Power of Self Leadership, 10-Step Business Planning.

Marcus Smith

Vice President, Sales

Marcus Smith manages ShockWatch’s sales efforts globally and directs its strategy for growth.  Prior to joining ShockWatch in 2011, Marcus was Director of International Sales for Pelican Products, Inc.  During Marcus’ years with Pelican, the company realized record export sales each year and was the recipient of the 2008 Massachusetts AIM-IBC Global Trade Award. Prior to his position with Pelican, Marcus worked for Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel Lucent) where he held different roles in Product Management and Sales.  Marcus holds a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University and a M.B.A. from Duke University.
